Your Itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Durham for 4 nights accommodation.

Day 2: A free day to truly discover Durham, a fine medieval city whose Norman Castle and Cathedral have dominated the skyline for over 900 years. Visit Crook Hall and Gardens, a beautiful Grade I listed Medieval Manor House, and perhaps enjoy a courtyard cream tea before exploring the walled gardens, described by Alan Titchmarsh as a “tapestry of colourful blooms”.

Day 3: Take a trip through the Durham Dales, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Enjoy views of Derwent reservoir on your way to beautiful Blanchland, and across the Pennines to Barnard Castle. After lunch visit the Bowes Museum, a spectacular French-style Chateau that’s home to the exquisite Silver Swan.

Day 4: Take a tram ride into the past at the Beamish Museum. Nestling in 300 acres of beautiful countryside, this open-air museum vividly recreates life in the North East in the early 20th century. There’s all the fun of the fair from Edwardian shops and houses to a journey underground to Pit Village.

Day 5: Time to head home.
