We continue up the Bonnie Banks before arriving at Crianlarich where we catch the early afternoon train to Fort William - one of the Great Rail Journeys of the world through fantastic Highland panoramas of lochs, glens and mountains. At Fort William we rejoin our coach, glimpsing Ben Nevis before continuing the last leg of journey past Loch Ness and onto the picturesque Spa town of Strathpeffer, our home for the next three nights. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: We take the costal road east along the white sands of the Moray Firth, heading into the heart of the Speyside Valley and Whisky Country. We stop in Dufftown, the World's Malt Whisky Capital, for an essential early afternoon stop at Glenfiddich Distillery (admission FOC) with the opportunity to sample some of this world famous malt! Much revived, we head for the Cairngorm Mountains to take a short trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway from Broomhill to the busy resort of Aviemore. We arrive back at our hotel after a memorable day, for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Today we explore the beautiful Black Isle on our doorstep, with pretty villages and towns such as Beauly. Free time in the afternoon to visit Inverness, Scotland's Capital of the North, spend some time shopping or perhaps include a visit to the Castle perched on the banks of the River Ness, before returning to Strathpeffer and our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: This morning we head south through the Grampian Highlands then onto Perthshire through some lovely rolling countryside. then to the Fair City of Perth itself for our last overnight stay and dinner in Scotland at our centrally located hotel. Stopping en route at the House of Bruar for some traditional Scottish produce and craft shopping. On arrival in Perth, some free time before dinner to explore the town.
